Birthing Stools help to open up the pelvis without having to stand and squat which can become very tiring. This makes Birthing Stools the perfect option for Mums who wish to have an active birth.
Most Mums know that lying on your back during labour is much harder work because you are trying to push your baby out up-hill, pushing against gravity. By being active and up-right during your labour you can use gravity to your advantage and help to push your baby out. After sometime in labour though a lot of Mums find standing tiring, and kneeing can cause discomfort too. By sitting on the stool, being in that upright position, can help to open up the pelvis but without you having to hold your own weight. Birthing Stools are also said to reduce tearing because of the optimium postion for delivery.
Our own design of Birthing Stools, are fibreglass so fairly lightwieght but very sturdy. Our stools are designed to make you feel safe and secure without worrying about tipping.

As with all our hire items if you need to cancel for a medical reason, anytime before your Stool is shipped, we guarantee you will receive your hire payment back, although we cannot unfortunately return your deposit as we may have lost bookings whilst the stool was reserved with you. Things do change in pregnancy and we understand this, which is why we would never keep all your money if you have to cancel for a medical reason - i.e. you are not able to use the stool due to a planned C-Section. However, apart from a planned C-Section you should not need to cancel even if you are planning to have your baby in hospital, because the stool is so portable it can be taken anywhere! Just remember to bring it home please!

* Please note we also need to hold a £50 security deposit for this hire. you can pay this by cheque or credit/debit card. We will contact you for this seperately when receiving your order. This way it is not charged on your card only authorised. The deposit is refunded to you when your pool is received back in good condition.
